Quenya is one of the 'Elvish' languages devised by JRR Tolkien, and is most familiar to fans of the Lord of the Rings through Galadriel's Lament in Lorien, which is also known as Namárië. Tolkien referred to linguistic invention as his 'secret vice', and practiced it for his whole adult life. Such is the breadth and depth of his creation that it is possible to compose quite long texts in Quenya.
